Manuscript Preparation:

Editing and Proofreading: Ensure the manuscript is thoroughly edited and proofread for grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors.

Formatting: Format the manuscript to fit the specifications of the desired book size (e.g., 5"x8", 6"x9"). This includes setting margins, line spacing, font type and size, and adding chapter titles, headers, footers, and page numbers.

Cover Design:

Design: Create an attractive cover that includes the front, spine, and back. The design should be appropriate for the genre and include the book title, author name, and any additional elements like a tagline or quotes.

Dimensions: Ensure the cover design meets the exact dimensions required by the printer, including the spine width, which depends on the number of pages and the paper thickness.

File Format: Save the cover design in a high-resolution format (usually PDF) that the printer specifies.

Choosing a Printer:

Offset Printing: For larger print runs, traditional offset printing can be more cost-effective per unit but requires a higher initial investment and storage space for the books.

File Submission:

Interior File: Submit the formatted manuscript as a print-ready PDF. Ensure all fonts are embedded, and images are high-resolution (300 DPI or higher).

Cover File: Submit the cover design as a separate print-ready PDF, following the printer’s guidelines for bleed, trim, and safe areas. We will provide cover template.

Proofing:

Digital Proof: Review a digital proof provided by the printer to check for layout and formatting issues.

Physical Proof: Order a physical proof copy to inspect the print quality, paper type, binding, and overall appearance. This is crucial to catch any errors before the full print run.

Printing:

Printing Process: Once the proof is approved, the printer will begin the printing process.

Binding: After printing, the pages are cut to size and bound. Paperback novels typically use perfect binding, where the pages are glued to a flexible spine.
